Felt Vessels & Sculptures

Handmade Felt and Textiles made in Dorset by Ann Baseden

The seamless vessels are made by the wet felting method, using a resist inside to stop the two sides felting together.  They tend to be labour intensive as the initial laying out of fibres has to be carefully and accurately carried out before any attempt is made to turn the fibres into felt.

The sculptures, both two and three dimensional, are created mainly with the felting needle, although some wet felting is also sometimes used.
